Jaxport to receive new, direct service from India, Mediterranean

Ocean Network Express will soon have direct service between Jacksonville and India as well as the Mediterranean. Beginning in May 2024, the weekly service will depart Bin Qasim, Pakistan and will travel by India, thru the Suez Canal, and on to the U.S. ports of Charleston, New York, Norfolk, and Savannah before ending the route in Jacksonville and returning to Pakistan with stops at Damietta, Egypt and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia before returning to Pakistan. The vessel will make calls to Sheva and Mundra, India, Damietta, and Algeciras, in Spain, along the way.

The ONE Stork arrives in Jaxport, May 2023.

ONE expects to bring in more than 5,000 TEUs in fiscal year 2024 with more than 20,000 TEUs anticipated annually thereafter. Along with it being the first direct service to Jaxport from those ports, it’s also the first direct service to Jaxport from Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. ONE says they anticipate products being shipped to be comprised of electronics, perishable food, textiles, and apparel. The vessels, with an estimated 8,000 TEU capacity, will berth at Blount Island.
